Better Pack® Electronic model BP555e series are the newest electronic machines on the market today. With color coded selective measuring lengths and the most advanced moistening system, you are assured of a strong, safe carton closure with the minimum amount of tape.  How about a tape dispenser with future expansion?  The BP555eSA allows you to add external devices to automatically dispense gummed tape.  Due out fourth quarter the all new Automatic Measuring Device (AMD).  The AMD will automatically determine the amount of tape required to seal the box!  The BP555eSA will also hook up to a computer through the patented serial port.
The BP555eSA replaces all of the previous Better Pack BP555, BP556 Robot, and the BP554 models allowing the operator to get up to three different lengths of tape automatically as each piece is taken.
The BP555eLA works the same but the keyboard is from 12" to 90" with a divider key.
Triple brush moistening and a patented top heater deliver hot tape for foolproof adhesion. Only with hot tape can you be sure that all the tape’s hard dry glue is reactivated in the split second it takes to dispense it. Hot tape is "alive." It hugs the kraft of the carton to form an inseparable bond even if it is not carefully rubbed down by the packer! The top heater heats the tips of the brushes where the tape passes over the brushes for "zone" heating. Adjustable pressure bars regulate flow of water for different types of tape and sealing situations.
The Better Pack® 555e series handles reinforced and paper gummed tapes from 1 ½" to 3" wide.
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE STATEMENT
Gummed tape dispensers require minimal preventive maintenance and care.  However, the gummed tape used in tape dispensers produces a "dust" that if not removed can reduce the performance of the unit.
Minimal lubrication is required for the cutting blades. Oiling these blades lightly on a monthly basis will greatly extend the life and performance of the blades.
Weekly washing of the water brushes will assure the most effective reactivation of the glue on the tape. On reinforced tape the glues are heavier, and during dispensing some of this glue wipes off on the brushes and runs into the water tank. If not washed out with warm water and mild soap weekly the glue will accumulate and reduce the effectiveness of the moistening system by clogging the water brush bristles.
No repair should be attempted by well meaning but inexperienced persons. This could cause additional problems.  We offer full repair services on most tape dispensers, or we will direct you to a knowledgeable source.
SUGGESTED PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
The following suggested preventive maintenance applies to all tape machine models in this web site:
Weekly
Wash water brushes with mild soap; rinse well.
Wash water tank with mild soap; rinse well.
Monthly
Clean accumulated glue from blades.
Apply light coating of light machine oil to back of blade (manuals).
On 555 and E and R models, add few drops of oil to the blade felt pad.
Semi-Annually
Thoroughly clean all accumulated pieces of tape, tape dust and any other foreign material from inside of machine with dry brush or blower.
Clean bottom of heaters and pressure plates of accumulated glue.
Clean all covers with a damp rag.
