Worker rescued after lift fails above Jersey Shore bed and breakfast

A maintenance worker was rescued from a lift towering over a Jersey Shore hotel Saturday night after it malfunctioned, local fire officials said.
The worker was painting and changing outdoor lights at the Angel of the Sea in Cape May when their aerial platform lift began malfunctioning, the firefighters union said Sunday. The worker was about 50 feet above ground when the device became inoperable.
City firefighters were called to the bed and breakfast around 6:30 p.m. A fire truck’s ladder was raised to the worker, whose lift was stuck at the top of one of the building’s towers.
The worker was brought down uninjured, firefighters said.
It was unknown if the worker was employed by the hostel or if they were a contractor. The bed and breakfast did not immediately return an emailed request from NJ Advance Media for comment.
